The only thing more magnificent than the mountain scenery was my Camp Chef stove. The first afternoon we arrived in camp to set up, it started snowing, we were at 11,333 feet above sea level. So, once we got the tent pitched, it was time to make coffee on the Camp Chef, coffee never tasted so good. Once we were all set up and ready for supper, I broke out the Barbecue Box and grilled up some of the best steaks I have ever had, that cast iron grate made all the difference. To be most honest, the Camp Chef stove worked like a dream, it was worth waiting 2 years to get it but now I wish I had gotten it back then. We cooked bacon, eggs, meats, soup, boiled water, made coffee and much more on the Camp Chef. This stove will be in my camping gear forever, I suspect you will sell a few more stoves after some of my hunting partners checked mine out. I must say that making such a compact and ready for anything product, I really enjoyed using the stove, it helped us get fed and back into the field with no problems what so ever. Wish I could explain how happy I am more, but I think you get the picture. I am a SUPER SATISFIED customer! Just wait until I get the griddle!

Doughnuts

• 2 cups scalded milk
• 1/2 cup shortening
• 2 tsp. salt
• 4 T. dry instant potatoes
• 2 T. yeast
• 1/2 cup warm water

• 3 T. sugar
• 2 eggs beaten
• 3 T. cumin
• 1/2 tsp. nutmeg
• Flour

Stir shortening into hot milk then add salt and instant potatoes. Dissolve yeast with sugar and water. Add 2 cups flour to shortening mixture then add eggs. Add yeast mixture and nutmeg. Add enough flour to make a soft dough. Cover and let rise. Punch down and roll out on floured surface. Cut with doughnut cutter and let rise until double or firm. Put about 3 inches of cooking oil in deep fry pot, turkey pot or Dutch oven. Heat to 350 to 375 degrees Fahrenheit. (for best results use Deep Fry Thermometer). Fry doughnuts a few at a time, turn once. Do not over crowd.

Glazes & Sugar Coating
Mix 1/2 cup milk and 2 cups powdered sugar with a tsp. of vanilla, or a few drops of maple, lemon or any other flavor you would like. Dip doughnuts to coat. For sugar coating, mix granulated sugar and cinnamon with a touch of nutmeg. Put in brown paper bag or container with tight fitting lid and carefully toss to coat. This needs to be done as doughnuts are removed from oil.
