Make it a Dutch Oven Valentine's
Day and Impress Her
Wow that special someone with a delicious
treat cooked fresh in your Camp Chef Dutch oven. Cast iron
cookware has been
the preferred pot of outdoor chefs for centuries -- and
now it's
working its way into your hearts, homes and kitchens. Show
your Valentine how much your care by preparing a Dutch
oven dinner right in the kitchen. A menu complete with appetizer,
roast and veggies and dessert is sure to delight.
Start
off this lover's feast with bacon-wrapped mushrooms. Simply
wrap small, whole mushrooms with strips of bacon
and hold in
place with a toothpick. Place on upper roasting rack of
the Ultimate Dutch Oven while the roast and veggies cook below.
Now, I'm getting ahead of myself. Let's talk about how to
get that roast going. Take a 5 lb roast and brown the
outside in
the Dutch oven's skillet/lid. Then, place the roast into
the base of the Ultimate Dutch Oven on the lower rack.
Add potato
halves and large carrot sticks around the roast. Pour a
can of your favorite juice or beverage over the top of the roast
and
veggies. Sprinkle Italian seasoning flakes over the top
and
set on top of your kitchen burner at medium high heat.
Cooks in about
35 minutes. Check meat with thermometer to ensure doneness.
Exchange gifts before moving on to dessert, just to make
sure you have captive audience.
For dessert, how about baking
up a little Peach Cobbler in your new
5-inch Camp Chef oven? This new member of the Advantage
Cast
Iron family is the hottest oven on the market. At 1 qt
volume, this oven is the perfect size for single serving dishes,
for preparing sauces and salsas or for use as a unique
bowl.
Be
sure to serve your Peach Cobbler topped with vanilla bean
ice cream.
If all goes well, you'll have a Valentine feast
to remember. So even if the gifts don't make a lasting
impression, your
meal will definitely impress -- with success. |
